Chemex Global is pleased to announce the commencement of an Engineering, Procurement, and Fabrication (EPF) contract for Oil Search (PNG) Limited (now Santos Limited) for a 1,500-bpd modular crude distillation unit. This refinery will produce diesel and Jet A1 to support Santos’ upstream operations in Papua New Guinea and will be a replacement for a unit damaged by an earthquake in 2018. Once installed, Chemex will assist with commissioning and startup of the unit, as well as training during turnover to Santos’ operations.
Chemex Global performed the front-end engineering for the unit previously and will deliver a turnkey EPF scope on a lump-sum basis under the current contract.
